Voices Rising makes video debut with “Be the Light” by Lea Morris
On February 8, 2022, members of Voices Rising came together after yet another COVID hiatus to perform “Be the Light,” an uplifting anthem by Lea Morris. The song’s text was inspired by National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman’s “The Hill We Climb,” the poem she recited at the Presidential Inauguration of Joe Biden in January 2021. Videographers Mark Gardner and Marin Misoda joined Voices Rising at First Church in Jamaica Plain to record our first ever live performance video. We were inspired and grateful for the entire process and everyone who came together to make it happen, and we are so excited to share this experience with our community. Together, we will be the light!
